Hey everyone! Seems like forever ago I was an MS2 stalking these forums for study advice (the only advice you need: it all works, and you will be fine). It hasn't actually been that long, but since I've matched at my first choice residency, graduated from medical school, moved to Boston, and am now neck-deep in intern year. Yesterday was sort of an occasion as well- after 16 hours, I walked out of my final USMLE exam. Goodbye, Prometric, it's been real.
Anyway, as I was unpacking my locker, it occurred to me that after the MCAT, Step 1, Step 2, Step 2CS, and now Step 3 day 1, and Step 3 day 2: (or as I now like to think of it, The NBME Strikes Back), I have my test-day toolkit down to a science. So I figured, in honor of Day 1 of my USMLE-less future (assuming I pass!), I figured I'd share what I've come up with over the years
The list:
-Zip-up fleece jacket
-2 Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
-Chocolate-covered espresso beans
-2 Starbucks double-shots
-2 bottles of water (one regular, one with mint extract)
-Almonds
-Immodium (you never know)
-Advil
-Silicone earplugs
-Gum
Good luck everyone, try and enjoy the ride!
