Same here! Tried calling to schedule an interview date but Joyce's number was busy

I will be there the 24th. Coming from Wyoming.

Current interview dates are Aug 24, 27, 31, and Sept 10

I interview on September 24th. Anyone know if UNMC usually does the multi mini interview format? I heard that it was supposed to be one on one in a causal setting, so I was surprised when I got the email saying otherwise.

They switched to the MMI format last cycle. Dr. Vogt mentioned it's the better format for interviews because it eliminates bias and stops people from talking their way into dental school

Gotcha, thank you! So is it a closed file interview? Also are the questions mostly situational or will some be like “what is your greatest strength”?

From my understanding, it's all situational questions. It's closed file, outside of knowing your name, the people conducting interviews have no idea who you are.

Has anyone had an interview yet? What was it like?
3 stations with two faculty per station, you are asked two situational questions for two of the stations and four at the third. Kinda stressful because there is no way to prepare for it and the interviewers don't give any facial expressions to what you're saying lol

I thought this was stressful at first but during the actual thing it wasn't stressful at all. You are given time and scratch paper to think about the situations before you have to answer and that helps a ton!

Yep, it definitely gets better as you move along from station to station, but overall, it is still more stressful than the typical dental school interview with bread and butter questions like why dentistry.

I have an interview at UNMC November 5th. Has anyone have an example of what the situations where?

Out of respect for the interview process and to other applicants, I will not share a specific question with you. However, think about it this way--all of the questions you will be asked truly have "no right answer." Even if you had a day (or in your case, several days) to think about it, you would not be able to come up with a "perfect" answer. The questions will challenge you to think of all of the possible consequences of your actions, in response to the situation they present to you. They want to know how you think--so I believe you will find this advice to be much more helpful than any sample questions that I could post. Best of luck on the interview!

Will it be midnight CST or EST? Anyone know?

What was the e-mail address, if it's not a personal e-mail? I just want to make sure it didn't sort into my spam or something :/
The email I got says it's from "University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry" and was sent to the normal email I used for my app. It wasn't in my spam or anything.

Accepted 12:00am via email, SD resident!

Is it possible they send out e-mails one at a time? Do they stagger or do you think it was a mass email at once? Because you said 12:00am and fermi said 12:01am???

I think it depends on what email app you use, so there could be a delay! Joyce did say on the interview day that she sends them all at 12:00am on the spot

Was there a delay for your emails? As in did you receive the email after 12:00, but it says it was sent at 12:00?
