What if Prometheus had patented fire? The patent system has gone too far and continues to push to the extent that it is doing just the opposite of what it was created to do: foster innovation. Pharmacists probably know the problems of the current patent system than any other with the strategies of big pharma in releasing and pricing meds.

Glanced at the case today...so does this mean I can patent vancomycin dosing? Hope the court tosses this one.
 
Doesn't even seem to make sense. Patenting a concept that drug levels correlate to dosing recommendation. If this goes through, I'm going to patent blood pressure levels and hypertensive meds.
 
And I'll patent algorithms for insulin dosing on the basis of blood glucose levels.
