I am an undergraduate at Southern Utah University. I have a strong interest in ophthamology, but have a hard time finding knowledgeable people to talk to about the field. I am hoping for some advice concerning class selection and on finding meaningful volunteer opportunities. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum! UU has an amazing ophtho department; it is very strong both clinically and with respect to research. You will be able to get plenty of both volunteer and tag-along opportunities there.
