Is that how rolling admissions works?

I think rolling admissions is more "earlier the submission, better chances for interview". Not necessarily acceptance. From what I saw in last year's threads, a pre-dec interview is fair game whether it's September or November for admission on Dec 2.

Last cycle, submitted closer to late, then interviewed pre-dec, then non-accepted, and now re-applicant. Moral of this story: nobody really knows.:shrug::shrug:

F.Y.I. Non-accepted bears multiple meanings.😉

The way I see it is this. From a strictly applicant standpoint the people the receive the first interviews start off with the highest chance of getting accepted. They invited you first because you were the best applicants they saw and wanted you to come for an interview. The interview is the difference maker though. Obviously someone from a later interview can be very personable and leave a great impression while one of the first interviewees did the exact opposite therefore raising the chances of the later interviewee and lowering the chances of the 1st interviewee.

This

best does not necessarily equate to only stellar academic credentials and/or stellar non-academic credentials.
