So I just got this book called the Successful IMG. Its by an alum of the Royal College of Surgeons who is doing his residency in ophthalmology at Louisiana State.

Even though I haven't committed to Medical School in Ireland, I feel like all the North American students' biggest fear (at least this is mine) is matching into a residency that we want. This book is amazing. It gives you all the ins-and-outs, all the statistics, all the details you need to get a top residency of your choice.

Go here for a detailed Table of Contents of the book. I'd recommend it. New copies are hard to find, but amazon and ebay have a few.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to get that if I get into a school in Ireland.

I've already read it and its pretty great and definitely encouraging, particularly to those who are looking at the more competitive programs.

If you guys have any questions about what the author says in particular instances, let me know and I can paraphrase it for you.

I read a couple sample chapters, and it seemed very good. I just bought it from Amazon.com for $74.98.

Did you check ebay? 75 dollars is really steep. I got two copies for 20 dollars each off ebay....
