Just wondering what you guys plan to wear, especially those going to the Penn interview next friday...
I am getting a suit fitted but I don't want it to look quote, "undertaker-ish". What do you think is good...something conservative yet spicy? How about pin striped? 🙂

Its funny you should say that. I was working as an undertaker today. and my suit had pin stripes. Dead serious. 🙂 Actually I'm NOT joking. Everyday at work makes dentistry seems like a dream. BUT ANYWAY,

If I were you I would just go with something young and conservative. You know, a white or blue shirt with a dark suit. It is the fit and cut that make it look hip. The three button or narrower lapel thing is cool right now. I think it always looks better if the torso as fitted as is comfortably possible (given you're in shape). I would steer clear of the double breasted suits for interviews as they can look a little over the top. Oh, and a conservative tie is always in order. I personally like red ones with nautical stripes. As far as footwear goes I just picked up a pair of oxblood wingtip florsheims. I like them a lot. be sure to wear socks the color of your suit. If you wear white socks at an interview I'm at I will make fun of you. 🙂

I'm wearing a bow tie and suspenders with a blue Jos A Banks suit if I ever get an interview. With some Allen Edmonds Chili lace ups and white french cuffed shirt. Hopefully it'll show personality and professionalism let's just hope I get an interview... granted my AA wasn't that high but my PAT might refelect my rural carpentry side. No really I'm nervous about dental school. My to be fiancee is in the out of state pharmacy school where i am an undergrad and i want to stay here and go to Dental School near her.... Dad burn it I don't think you all care... Here's to dollar Margaritas at Sabora Latino's and the doubt and anticipation that scare the deepest depth of us all, failing on the dream we have based our life on.
oh yeah and blue socks

I just went to the mall the other day and picked up a charcoal suit w/ blue shirt and a red tie. I figure that'll cover all of the different dental school colors I'll be interviewing at. I had some one tell me once you might want to wear something that makes you stand out but not look ridiculous. He wore a pink shirt to some of his interviews and he got in to like 4 med schools. I don't think I can bring myself to wear pink though. Basically I think you're just not supposed to show up in jeans and a T-shirt and you'll be fine.

Im thinking a bold blue and maybe a yellow tie or something that stands out, yet is conservative...either way...I want a blue shirt...bold blue that is...I'm really excited about this PENN interview...just got excused for a test I have that Friday 🙂

Just bought the suit...got it at Dillards down here in Florida...about 500 bucks 🙄 But it looks really nice, I tried on two actually, a charcoal and a black sleek pin striped one, and that was it. I just felt more comfy in the black pin striped suit, and ended up getting a blue shirt (medium blue) and a yellow and blue tie. Any takes on this, fashionistas?

I'm having trouble to tie the knot of my tie. Somebody please help 😎

Just for information...Everyone shows up in a blue shirt, unless you're a Mormon, then most show up in a white shirt. If you want to stand out, you'll have to do better than a blue or white shirt. Best of luck to all you applicants.

i'm planning on vomitting on my blue shirt the night before my next interview after which i will eat two big grab bags of doritos and wipe my dirty paws all over. A hairdryer and two hours later i will be ready to be unique at my interview.

Now, John, you've got to wear clothes in proportion to your physique. There are definite do's and don'ts, good buddy, of wearing a bold-striped shirt. A bold-striped shirt calls for solid-colored or discreetly patterned suits and ties...

Right. And yes...always tip the stylist fifteen percent.

Listen, John, I've got to go. T Boone Pickens just walked in... Just joking...

No don't tip the owner of the salon.

Okay, John, right, got it.
