I did my associate degree in CS at a community college - 2 years ago I transferred to a 4 years university to complete my bachelors + pre req for med school.

The problem is I work full time and the more advanced BIO courses are offered during the day which means there might be 2 or 3 classes I might need to take at a COmmunity College...
I am kinda scared doing that because I have read many times that CC credits are not seen very well by adcoms...

But hey I have to work ! if my 4 years university would offer those at night of course I would go but I can't during the day 👎 😡

Any thoughts on this?

This is very much up to debate. Many threads on this, on post-bacc forums, pre-allo forums, and more than a few times on this forum. Ultimately what it turns into is a pissing contest between those at 4 years and those who go to a junior college before transferring.

There is no evidence that classes at a 4 year are more challenging than a 2 year. If you are going to a cc because of money, family, work, ect., then it ultimately reflects nicely on you. Not only are you in school fulfilling your requirements, you're also juggling other obligations in life.

OHSU, which is my #1 choice, specifically states on thier web page that you should go where you can afford and will enjoy it.

'Nuf said. Good luck to you!

Kim pretty much said it all. But I just wanted to add. Always take the more "rigorous" route. I'm not saying between a 4yr and CC, but in terms of the actual subject. That too can help you out. Some schools (4yr's and CCs) offer two OChem courses. So you want to take the more challenging one. If it is an accredited CC in your state, they should have to live up to some academic standards that allow them to transfer classes to a 4-yr. So as Kim said, if you have to go to a CC temporarily due to financial reasons...fine. But in the long run its not too good since upper div classes aren't offered at CC's, and those may be weighted more in the eyes of the adcoms, depending on the subjects you take.

I did my O chem at a cc, and for that matter completed an AA degree before getting my BS at a state university. No schools asked me about taking ochem at cc while I was working. I really wouldn't worry about it , but you definitely want to do well...As.
