The worst interview experience ever!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The point is they should have known. They obviously somehow figured this out during the interview. They probably already knew.

And the admissions department sole reason for being there is to keep all files orderly and make sure students meet their requirements so they can be interviewed and subsequently accepted or denied.

This is like saying they don't accept people under a 3.25 gpa. Yet they invite him for the interview and after the interview they say; sorry we don't accept people w/ a 3.15. Sorry.

Thank you!

Since ds make the "rules" regarding admission, they can just as easily ignore them. It is apparent that by the time the interviewer showed up, the OP was fuming. Most interviews do not last beyond 30 minutes and it is uncommon for a decision to be made on the spot regarding admission/rejection. The Dean apparently had enough and used a very convenient excuse for the on the spot rejection.

Maybe! but still very unprofessional!

USC doesn't do one-on-one interviews with students. Not that I am aware of, at least.

How is it possible that the op is talking about USC? Their interview isn't an interview... It's a PBL mock session.. If USC invited the op and he had to meet with the director or whatever one on one then it's a whole another story because they don't do that.

I'm sure someone has said this already, but I'm way too lazy to read all the replies: Schools can interview you even though you haven't completed all the pre-reqs. It's just an understood condition that you finish them before matriculation. It's your responsibility to check if you satisfy their requirements.

As long as there are students willing to take ur spot and be treated like crap, the schools won't change their ways. Ds doesn't care unless maybe your a top applicant. Even then they probably won't care.

That's not true!

Is it possible that the interviewer was looking for an excuse to overlook not having had all of your pre requisites done at a US university, but after 90 minutes he found none?

I'm guessing within the first 5 minutes of interviewing this guy the interviewer decided against him. Judging by his responses I get the feeling that he's 'that one guy that just never figured it out'.

Based on the OP's previous posts I'm guessing the school was UOP...

this is now just about attention for the OP as people try to guess the school

Lmao! he loves it. Truly the worst thread ever...but I keep coming back. I guess it's the true American in me.

My guess is that it might be a Cali school. OP's previous posts have to do with schools like Pacific and UCLA.

My other guess is that this guy/girl could be making this up just for attention and an interesting(?) discussion on SDN. 😏

I agree!

Whatever it is I certainly can't get it to bite.

This doesn't sound like USC. USC doesn't give personal interviews. Also, USC is one of the most lenient schools about prerequisites. Unless maybe you interviewed for the ASPID program? Whoever it was, it was a messed up thing to do.
