Hi guys.
I'm currently a sophomore student right now (in NYC), and I really want to become a pharmacist as my career.

A big reason for that is the salary ... After college I'll be the only support of my family... as well as a 30yrs loan(mortgage) of my house.
Also, a friend of my family is pharmacist, and I actually interested in the way a pharmacist works.

I'm not very good at science/chemistry, but I'm doing pretty good at math.
I'm taking a Chemistry class, and a honor geometry class in a normal high school now. I usually get 3 sometime 4 on all my classes if the highest scale is 4.

I don't know how hard pharmacy school would be, but I'm a hard working student and willing to learn until I understand... Well, I'm not smart... just saying I'm not lazy guy that give no efforts
And...
Do you need to take college to become a pharmacist ? I read some website from Google and it saying that you could apply to a 6 years program instead of college ? I'm not sure about that....

So, what are things I need to do, or aware of at high school, or perhaps college to construct the road to 😍pharmacist😍 ?

Thanks for read my thread ! Have a nice day ! 🙂

First: shadow. You're in high school and you said you know a pharmacist already, so take advantage of that.

Second: 6 year programs just have you completing all of your typical pharmacy pre-reqs in the first 2 years, and if your gpa is high enough, you're automatically accepted into the professional part of the program (what you'd be doing in a typical 4 year pharmacy program). You might be better served by doing your pre-reqs at a four year university (or CC, depending on your circumstances) and seeing if you can hack it in college level science courses. If not, pharmacy school isn't for you.

Good luck!
