Is there anyone out there that is a pharmacist that might pursue pharmaceutical sales on the side?? If so, what do you do to have that ability.. i think my mom's friend does something like that and i think that be sweet because of benifits and it would keep excitement in mylife if i did something like that other than the same boring settings everyday. Pharmaceutical Sales seems like an interesting career also, is there anyone just in sale that could tell me what a day's work is like?

Donnie,

In general I think that the sales rep job is not one that is well respected by pharmacists. (again, in general) You might be better off looking for this advise elsewhere... maybe ask your mom's friend about it.

Good luck!

There was a floater who came in for a day and graduated from my college, was telling me how he was a full time drug rep and was a part time pharmacist (he works when he wants to). Seems very relaxed, he says he goes to at least 20 different sites a day to check up on his offices and how they're doing. One major thing was he enjoyed having the time gaps during his day so he could pray (he's quite a religious fellow). Basically, graduated with pharm D now doing sales. Very flexible time schedule. You pretty much make your own day as long as you get your stuff done.
