I am also considering law school if I don't get in this year, anyone else doing this too? I am applying to Harvard and Yale Law school, graduates are making $200,000 a year and it takes only four years. Anyone applying to Law School thinking about making money after graduation? Any tips.

This has got to be a troll/joke.

not a troll, i promise u. I am thinkiing that having a backup plan is nice. Law school is my back up plan in case I do not get into the pharmacy school of my choice. I saw how much law school costs compare to pharmacy schools, just wondering. again, not trolling ok thanks.

Ok if you're really not a troll- Law school and Pharmacy school have completely different Pre-reqs so how is that a logical back up plan? That means more undergrad school. Also, you have to take the LSAT which is extremely difficult especially if you are apply to Harvard and Yale....that is why you are a troll.

okay, please stop and think about a back up plan in case you do not get into your favorite pharmacy school. Mine is law school. I like the fact that lawyers make money from patients the same way pharmacists make money off drugs. I have always wanted to make money to support my wife and kids. I was thinking that law school would not be all that bad. Anyone else also applying to law school? I just hope I can get in somewhere ..

Money should not be the only factor in determining your career choice. It's not all about making big $$$, but I think all of us should have compassion when pursuing any health-care career.

Also, no one here would be applying to law school because this is a pre-pharmacy forum. 🙂

Pharmacists do not make money off of drugs, unless you are a pharmacist who owns their own pharmacy or you are a research pharmacist who creates their own drug and has the royalties.

Everyone just hit the "report post" button and then walk away...

Good luck getting into HLS/YLS. Average LSAT scores are > 170 and the GPA has to be nothing short of academic perfection. Did I mention that the test is out of 180? (I'm assuming your one time score of 180 is enough.) Besides, if you're so bent up on making "$200,000 a year," I'm sure the admissions officers will be dying to accept you. I mean...which professional university out there doesn't want a money-hungry, self centered materialistic individual to be pursuing an education on their campus?

Was your last sentence a statement or question?

I don't want to be cruel so I'm going to stop here. Good luck on your endeavors, whatever they are.

I hope to be a pharmacist and own my own chain. I could make $50-$60 off each drug I sell, or I could make $4000 to $5000 on each person I get hired for legal advice. Some divorce lawyers are making $4000 on each case they handle, and some divorce lawyers are making well over $200,000 a year compared to the long hours of pharmacists. Are you suggesting that creating drugs would allow me to make more money? I still need a back up ..

LoL!

Not to be rude or to underestimate you, but if you cannot get accepted to any pharmacy school in the US, how can you manage to get accepted to the ivy leagues? I personally think getting accepted to an ivy league law school is much tougher than getting accepted to any pharmacy school here.

No I read somewhere that you need close to 3.90 and a perfect score on the lsat for Harvard or Yale law school. No sciences. You need to take some speech courses, english composition one and two, and I think you need to have a degree from somewhere, 3.90 gpa. All my friends are getting into law school because they hate having to take organic chemistry, physics, and all that science classes. the lsat isn't hard either, just practice 10 hours a week, and you can get a perfect score > 170.

So you JUST need to practice 10 hours a week and you can get a 99 percentile on the PCAT. Assuming that your GPA is really high ~3.90, you should receive plenty of interview invites from pharm schools unless if you screwed up on your personal statements/supplemental essays or on any other factors.

Try taking the lsat on your first try. I took it my first try and got a 90th percentle. I have a pretty good chance. Plus, wake up people - law schools do not require interviews. Wake up, and smell the air - you do not have to take organic chemistry or physics either to become an attorney. The lsat is easy, and I am applying to many law schools (10-15) and pharmacy schools (25-30). I hope I get into law school or pharmacy.

Well, perhaps many of us ENJOY taking ochem, physics, and other science classes. If science is not for you, maybe you shouldn't bother apply to pharm schools at all and focus on your law school route.
