Hi everyone,

I just took the DAT for the 3rd time today and I wound up with the same score of an 18 three times in a row. I am a non-trad, I started off in fine arts school and wound up with a finance degree. After working for a year and a half I went back and took a post-bacc program. I can't seem to break that 18. I live in NJ and had my sights set on UMDNJ. I also took Orgoman's class, it didn't much obviously. I just finished my post-bacc requisites, and have applied to UMDNJ's MBS program to get my masters and raise my GPA (3.2). I will be applying this June regardless and will update when I finish the first semester. Should I retake the DAT a 4th time?

Adcoms will see that you took the DAT x- number of times... Taking it the 4 th time (given that you have not improved the first 3 times....)... I dont think its a good idea. Apply early and BROADLY and hope for the best.

I'm also a non-traditional applicant with a bus degree, and from informational interviews, it looks like Science DAT score is most important for applicants like us. If you got TS18, it's not bad at all! But if you think you can improve and can commit a good amount of time for studying, I'd ask schools for permission to take the test for the 4th time and take it. Personally, studying with a tutor helped! So maybe you can look into tutoring options in your area or I can ask mine if he can do over Skype if you are interested. Like I said 18 is not bad at all and hope you are not too discouraged. Once you get a slightly higher DAT score, they will love you for your diverse work experience and maturity! Gluck!

I don't think 18 is a good score given that his/hers gpa is 3.2...just saying
