I just wanted to say that my experience on this forum has been far more interesting and informative than my experience on the allo forum.

That's not to say that there aren't interesting and helpful people in the allo forum, it's just that there are a lot more people and that leaves a lot of room for arrogant jerks and pessimists.

Yes there are less people in this forum, but in my opinion, you're all pretty much cooler.

Thanks for all of your help, advice and encouragment, your light-heartedness, honesty and maturity.

I wish all of you who are accepted the best of luck.
I wish all of you wise current Medical Students success in building your careers.
I wish all of you dreamers like me have the chance to achieve your goals, whether it be this year, next year, or in the future.

The vibe you're not going to be chloroformed, thrown in a tub of ice, and have your kidney cut out? Or the vibe that you don't have to worry about pre-DO's lurking under your car, ready to slash your Achilles?

I posted a response on Pre-Allo and was totally flamed for it. One of the classic DO/MD I want to be a doctor but I was thinking about reapplying even though I have my DO acceptance threads.👎

I know. I don't go into the pre-allo board anymore - there all a bunch of gunner meanies.....and to boot - we have the better moderators.... Ya know....I should start a thread in Pre-Allo that says The Pre-Osteo Moderators are better than the Pre-Allo Mods ~ 🙂~ See how pist they'll and watch them have temper tantrums.... hehehe but the funny thing is....I think that the moderators are universal and it won't mean a thing....but they'll just fight about it....

There is easily just as much bickering, bitching and whining in this forum as there is in pre-allo.

Nah, I think there is way less and that's because this is a tighter knit forum. There are less posters overall and there are regulars who constantly contribute to constructive posting.

Also, I would argue there is more light-heartedness in this forum than the bickering, bitching and whining you mentioned. We're certainly not without those things, but I think at the very least by virtue of numbers, there is a lot less.

Pre-DO's are much, much cooler. We all know we are. Our coolness is exponentially higher because we actually have conversations and learn from one another rather than ranting. Oh, wait, we do have the occasional rants about beards, but they're all meant to be light hearted and fun. Our ranting is usually for a good reason, not just to pick on someone or give someone grief. Yeah, we're the bomb. The pre-allo people seem really high strung and not friendly at all. Every time I've asked a question over there, I've risked getting flamed. If you ask a stupid question on the Pre-DO forum you'll probably get giggled at. That's as bad as it gets.

😳 Awww thanks. Hey don't forget about t-funk. She's a mom and definitely hardcore! She's a roller derby girl so she could kick my *ss any day of the week and twice on Sundays. And I agree, scpod is freakin' awesome. All in all we are a great group of people. And we're really really humble too. 😉

Oops...I made the mistake of reading a thread in pre-all that I knew would piss me off...The result is what I consider to be a very un pre-osteo thing to do!🙁 Don't kick me out of the club!

Really though, I'm just tired of people who aren't passionate about medicine applying to medical school. My friends and family have told me I need to chill out...and that just because I am so passionate about life (and what I'm doing with my life), doesn't mean other people are obligated to be that way too.

I'm on osteobook but does anyone think it is insanely slow over there? I posted a question/discussion in the AZCOM group and a month later I just deleted it because no one replied. No other discussions last I checked.

i made a similar thread a little while back ( a few weeks ago maybe). this forum is wayy more laid back and everyone is helpful. its a nice chance to relax when i'm irritated or fed up w/ rsponses/posts in the allo forum.
