Man, I just read a standard stellar UT response to a poster and it hit me.

This anesthesia forum is the best I've seen outta all the forums. We've got budding pre-meds, med students. residents working their asses off posting these great clinical scenerios, new-partners asking how to handle an intra-group issue, random drinking/superbiking/traveling/guns/planes/hip-hop/industrial metal scenerios, "troll controlling", test inquiries, program inquiries and answers, money/lifestyle questions and answers, etc etc etc.

Military, UT, Vent, Williamette, BigDan, FrankRizzo, resdstorm, jwk, trinity, hearticu, all the regulars, and even justin,

this is cool to be a part of.

True that, jet.

I'm at times honored to be a part...in some other forums you almost wonder how some specialties can survive...

Keep it up, folks! VERY motivating!!!! And don't your attendings DARE plan on leaving until we can suck every last ounce of offered knowledge from you!

NO JOKE! After a long day, doing "X" rotation and counting down the hours until I get to go home, I love spending some time catching up on the goings-on here...it helps me stay motivated to keep on keepin' on. At least 4th year is supposed to be the "good one" during med school...right? Maybe I'll get to see my wife some time this week 😍 ...I hope she remembers what I look like 😱 .

BTW, I'm going to "invite" one of my dad's GPS buddies (a gas doc in California) to contribute...I'll keep you posted.

What's a GPS buddy?

GPS: Global Positioning Satellite

They both write computer software for the handheld units that are used by various universities and folks like the forest service.

Hey......what about me? I like to think I add a few insightful jokes in here and there?!!???! Man, I'm getting flashbacks of elementary school where all the cool kids get picked for the "cool" teams. Screw you guys, I dont need you, you all smell funny anyway.............I'll show you.. someday Im going to open up my own anesthesia forum, and none of you guys are invited.

Just kidding ya'll, and definately do agree, this forum rocks!

AND GUYS:

It's "WILL-AM-ETTE" (the name of a river in Oregon...not that little blue chick's ugly sister). The whole "WILLIAM-ETTE" thing makes me feel all flowery. And I've got allergies 😛 .

Will-please don't call me William-amette :meanie: :meanie: :meanie:

GEEZ!! How could I forget Goose, Sevo, Think, Power, Mac10, Alpha, etc etc. You all are genetic freaks.
I'm forty so its probably early alzheimers. Hard for me to remember what I had for breakfast, and if I didnt have a Casio with the date on it, I wouldnt be A/O X 3.

Seriously, how can it get better than the gas forum. Go read that "Waking Up" thread. Awesome stuff from everyone. I'm on an anesthesia rotation right now at a program I'm going to be applying to, stayed until about 9pm tonight...reading that thread alone during a break gave me answers to about five pimp questions at the end of the shift. The resident and attending looked at me like I was from Mars.

Thanks, y'all.

I want to add to the "you guys rock" sentiment. Even though I'm a lowly MSIV, I get on the forum and read something that cracks me up, or I read some great post by one of the regulars and I'm encouraged about the field I'm going into (if all goes well 😉 ). I know that this specialty has some kick-ass people who care about what they do everyday and who are an inspiration to people like me. Enough of the sap, I put in my $.02
