Vetreans Evaluation Services - Philadelphia, PA
$200 - $1,175 a week - Contract
Veterans Evaluation Services is under contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs to perform compensation and pension evaluations in every state and US territory as well as multiple international locations. We are actively recruiting qualified, enthusiastic healthcare providers across the country. We receive cases in your community from the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), and would love to have your facilities participate in servicing veterans in your community for both contracts.

Our mission is to assist the VA with their current backlog of compensation and pension evaluations nationwide. At this time, American military Veterans may have to wait over a year for their claims to be processed, and even longer to receive their benefits checks. With the help of contractors like us, the VA is working hard to minimize that time spent waiting.

These one-time visit non-adversarial exams do NOT involve treatment. Each evaluation consists of a review of the veteran’s subjective complaints (history) followed by the examination itself. This exam is guided with ease by virtual templates (worksheets called Disability Benefits Questionnaire, or DBQ for short) on our secure website. Once the questions are completed and diagnostics are reviewed, the doctor or trusted staff member simply submits the form to us online.

VES is responsible for payment of these services, not the VA. Payments are processed automatically, twice a month, with no invoice or billing required. Pay rates range from $200-$1175, with the more DBQs done in one evaluation, the higher the rate of pay.

The last sentence is great way to ensure thorough, reliable and valid C&P exams.

I'm a fan of fee for service but seems like it can potentially get slimy

I have an ortho friend that does that. The more dbq thing is for the general med exam. So a simple scar check is paid, then a knee one is paid, etc. the pay structure ensures that the physical exam is comprehensive rather than limited.

Doesn't apply to psych.

Lochheed Martin is the other large va contractor on this.

Might take a long time for them to come out with a convoluted enough system for them to consider using.

For anything like this to happen would have to come from on high, Congress. It's already a touchy political topic. You mention modifying anything in conjunction with benefits and/or service connection and you get very vocal Veteran's groups destroying you in your next re-election bid. They have a better shot at decimating the other welfare systems that are filled with people who don't historically vote in high numbers and aren't very vocal on the national stage.
