Hello everyone,

As I am just beginning my preparation into medical school, I am finding myself on this forum constantly. However, for someone who never planned to apply to Medical school, the terminology can be quite confusing. SMP, TPR, EC, etc. etc. there were a bunch more.

Can anyone or everyone please share what these acronyms stand for? Google hardly helped and it seems like only medical school bound students are aware of these!

Thank you!

There is already a link to the glossary from a sticky at the top of this forum called
2015-2016 Applicant Sticky (PS, AMCAS, Secondaries, Interviews, etc. You can get to it directly from: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/the-unofficial-official-sdn-pre-med-glossary.523703/

SMP is Special Masters Program, EC is extra curricular (or experiences in the activity section), TPR is the Princeton review? Lol. II is interview invite (NOT SECONDARY), cGPA is cum GPA, sGPA is science GPA, LoR is letter of recommendation, LizzyM is a measure of GPA and MCAT combined, etc. that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Feel free to ask any more.
