This site is killing me... Need advice (DAT GPA etc)

Alright I applied to 8 schools and so far have gotten 4 pre-dec interviews. The schools were NYU, Nova, Temple, and Umich. Rejected from UMDNJ. Haven't heard from BU, UIC, and UDM. Now my gpa is 3.6 and 3.5s and my DAT scores are 19AA/19TS/20PAT (18B, 19C, 21OC, 17QR, 19 RC). I've been looking around and recently saw saying that a 19 is "pushing it" for acceptances.

I'd be extremely bummed if I did not get an acceptance this cycle. I am just asking if I really am on the edge of getting accepted or should I just relax. My EC's are normal and my shadowing is over 100 hours... Interviews went really well so far, I'm just worried about my actual stats.

Lol....relax. I have a 19 AA and I had 9 interviews. You are fine.....especially with 4 interviews. I would imagine you'll get in somewhere, unless you are extremely awkward in interviews!

You "should just relax," primarily because there's nothing more you can do at this point except wait. Oh, and also because your stats are fine and you said you did well at your interviews.

Solidarity. I thought I was alright too but a lot of people on this site have such great scores which makes it intimidating. I realize that the SDN "population" contain some of the most dedicated predents and not every applicant have those amazing scores.

I am in the same boat as you. I have very similar scores and have also had 4 interviews so far. I am also worried a little bit, but we can't do anything about it and I just try to think positively. With that mentality of thinking positively I really think that I will get accepted to at least one. If it makes you feel better I think you will too. 😀

Yeah I definitely think you'll be fine if you weren't completely awkward in your interviews 🙂 As for UDM, I went to the open house and the lady said they assembled their admissions committee 2 1/2 weeks prior to the open house (Nov. 8th). So they're really late getting started/handing out interviews.

I do not think you are the only one who will be losing sleep over the next 13 days. But I think your stats are fine and with 4 interviews you'll be pulling teeth somewhere in no time.

I think it is completely normal to be nervous right now and talking about it is very helpful for some of us.

The fact is, there are some people who have higher scores than many of us and they don't get in. That is intimidating. But it also sheds light on the fact that scores aren't everything.

Realizing that you have had 4 interviews is important! You are clearly a competitive candidate and I am certain that at least one of those institutions will accept you.

Withdraw all your applications immediately and re-write your DAT.
