I took my DAT today through Thompson Pro-metric and I had a horrible experience. I want to know if it was like this for everyone or not, and if anyone has ever complained.
1. My computer seemed to lag a lot, so after I pressed 'next' it would take 2 seconds or so to get a new question. With 100 questions in the science, that takes more than 3 minutes of my time. Also did that at the end when I tried to look over my marked answers. Why is it so slow??! On my home computer I had no problem running any DAT test programs.
2. For the PAT with the screen flickering it was impossible to focus on some of the angles. I also couldn't tellt he difference between a dotted line and a solid line in the top/front/side thing.
3. In the quant section there were a couple figures that were so small I couldn't make out the values they had listed there.
4. I had to use a white board and pen instead of paper and pencil. Since I'm left handed I had to write differently because otherwise my hand wipes across what I just wrote, wiping it off and making it impossible to read. This hurt on the reading section where I tried to take notes, and in the quant section where I couldn't work out a problem without erasing my previous steps unintentionally.
So, are these typical problems or was my experience especially awful? I feel like I got shafted hard, since I ran out of time in every section because I couldn't make out what I was looking at and spent more time than I should trying, because I had to rewrite a lot of what I had worked on and because the screen wasn't sharp enough to notice tiny details.
soooooo lame.
