i was accepted to rush earlier this month and all i received from the school is a one page letter telling me that I should send a $100 check to secure my spot. for those of you with rush acceptances, have you received other information packets, such as housing info, financial aid forms, incoming student guides, etc?

i received a two page letter. One of the pages had a link to financial aid. Congrats man! Very good school

no of course not, but rush was my only interview so far

so i called today and the lady said "they are unable to offer me a spot in the class right now" does that mean im flat out rejected or on the waitlist....either way this f#$@ing sucks

it only means you're not flat out accepted, so don't worry too much. Write Rush a letter of intest/intent and show the school you're still very much interested. If anything, I think that Rush would be a great school to be waitlisted at. Think about it, Rush's class is composed mostly of students from the chicago suburbs. Among these students, the top-notch onces go to uchicago and northwestern. The middle-tier get to choose from UIC or Rush. Given the difference in tuition between the two schools, most would choose UIC (and I know many friends who made this choice).

Thus, Rush will have good movement in its waitlist come late spring. Just sit tight, write your letters, make your calls and you'll be fine.

Thanks so much, you made me feel a lot better. I really liked rush so I was really upset about it, (especially since I am that typical applicant that is from the burbs and doesnt want to go to a research school like uchicago and nu) but I will definately write and call and hopefully somehow find a way in.....Thanks again!!

I got a rejection at Rush, too. But my interview went HORRIBLE - it was the worst interview I ever had. The interviewer made me feel like absolute crap at the end of it - i should have handled it better, truthfully, but i was so nervous. But that's okay - I was feeling sad until I received an acceptance from Dartmouth today 🙂

wow, sorry guys but it is nice to know im not the only one. Yeah finally got another interview offer so it kind of eased the pain....kind of. Do u know if we can call and maybe find out why were rejected, especially because it was post interview??
