I just heard that major airports across the country may be closed sometime later this week or early next week due to fears of terrorist attacks if the US goes to war with Iraq.

My parents are snowed in at the Denver airport, and have been talking to some of the pilots there. The pilots have been told that major airports (possibly O'Hare, Atlanta, etc.) could be closed because of security risks.

I have no more information than this, and it might not happen at all, but if you have plans to fly in the near future, you might want to make some other arrangements as a backup.

crap! 😕 I'm flying out this Thurs... the news said this morning they are thinking of attacking close to the weekend, but in any case I need more details about airport closings. Any suggestions for news sources on this?

It's impossible to predict when this war will happen. I wouldn't worry about it until it's here. Despite the two day ultimatum, the headline on FoxNews now says that Bush will be giving Saddam another week. This is after all the deadlines in the UN security council and all the threats.

It's getting old. If you're going to war, blow them up already.

When I talked to my mom last night she said that the earliest she could get out was Thursday morning. They were going to try and rent a car, but the highways were closed too. 😛
