A close friend took the MCAT recently and gave me his Princeton study guide to use for reference for the DAT. The exams cover very similar material (Chad's videos are universal for DAT/MCAT/others) but the defining DAT sub-test is the PAT section. I would say about 2 weeks of solid studying for the PAT would be sufficient but everyone is different in regards to spacial reasoning/learning.

Overall, I've generally heard many people claim that the DAT is easier than the MCAT.

I agree with the ^ that DAT is much easier than MCAT. As a matter of fact I took both! I mainly used MCAT study materials and they really helped me on DAT as well. So if you did good on MCAT then you should be fine on science section of DAT. However, you need few weeks depending on your math background to get ready for QR . Also take a sample test on PAT and see how well you can answer the questions. I spent about 3 weeks on PAT and was able to score good on real DAT test!

The DAT is much more straightforward than the MCAT. You might need to go over more material for the DAT, but the questions on the DAT are not nearly as convoluted/complex as MCAT questions (particularly for the bio and reading section). I got a 33 on the MCAT and a 24 AA on the DAT. Like others have said ~3 weeks of practicing the PAT and QR should be sufficient if you have studied for the MCAT.

Nice! So are you doing dentistry now?
