Ok. Hope the upperclassmen/women among us are getting some letters saying "Congratulations..."..... but I'm just looking for some quick thoughts on my schedule for this fall... I currently have 20 credits lined up and this is what it looks like:

Gen Chem II (Blowing chem I out of the water, but I've heard that chem II is a whole 'nother can of worms)
Gen Physics I (I'm not brave enough to even THINK about calc based physics)
Microbiology
Analytical Geo/Trig (Pre-calc)
History 101 (world civ)

My main worry is time in my schedule right now (my semesters have been 14 and 17 so far)...I will be participating in a live-in program at a local fire dept who gives room and board in exchange for nights on call, and in addition I will be working ~20-30 hours a week...so the question is.....

is it wise to take all this in one semester or would it be a risky move in regards to grades (3.82 right now)??

Thanks in advance 😀

Considering the part-time work, I would say that it is way too risky.

I guess anything is possible... but I think that would run just about anyone ragged. Especially the 'nature of the beast' that the FD can be. I've had a lot of nights without much sleep because of runs, and that can ruin whatever productivity you planned on/counted on for the next day, as I'm sure you know well. I'm just not sure I'd risk it with that number of hours considering the subject material.

Academically, your schedule is totally doable. But combined with working part time along with the FD thing, it seems a little risky.

thats what i'm thinking...i may drop a science class from the load (perhaps micro, since it isn't in a sequence like chem and physics)....and yes many a ruined night...city i will be working in runs 30-35 calls a day

Trying to keep an A in all of those classes + going to work is going to be tiring, stressful, and difficult. I suggest you should drop a class, its still going to be tough but not as tough as 5 classes combined. I'm taking 4 classes at the moment and i'm knocked out by the weekend, i especially hate it when teachers decide to have due dates around the same time. I hope it works out for you:xf:

I would either drop trig or micro, and since you most likely need trig, I would drop micro.
