Thoughts on Black Lives Matter from a Health Expert

Basically, the more evidence (I'm using this word figuratively) you have, the more you can push your agenda. Like any organism, the liberal media wants to survive and procreate as much a possible. So, a good tactic is to show people what they (liberal media) want people to see. As a news provider, this is easy to accomplish. It's almost like censorship.

Sauron kept showing Denathor all the "death and destruction" capability of Mordor, over and over again, until he went mad, and believed it. This led Denathor to commit inaction, which is what Sauron's was planning.

The BBC is notorious for pulling this kind of trick.

There is a point where you overdo it. Like in that video, look at how they pick a melato, foreign sounding woman and pin her against neo-nazis and fully garbed KKK. As a viewer, do you even have a choice of what to think about the 'so called' report. It's just using black as a means to an end.

Reinforcing something over and over and over and over and over and over again builds a really biased construct. And face it, most people are not even remotely as smart as us to-be posters on SDN. They eat it right up. The liberal media has boiled this down to a science over decades.

Yes and no. It has to be done gradually. I don't know if you have read Clarke's Childhood's End, but the alien overlord's action is a good example.

The overlord happens to look like a 'devil.' So, when he initially comes to earth in his ship, and fixes all of humanity's problems, he does not show himself for over 50 years. He knows his image would mess everything up, due to engrained religious perspectives, etc.

Like I said in the post about black conservatives, black problems should be sorted out by black people. As they begin to solve them, the liberal media will have less and less to hold onto, and use as ammunition.

I can't say how soon this will happen though. It's a matter of money, like everything else. Racism funds campaigns, fills prisons, and starts profitable wars.
I have a hard time taking seriously anyone who uses words like "mulatto"
In future you might want to not use words that are derogatory

There are a few people that have a strong interest in seeing the "racial struggle" continue - ironically enough, it's the same people designated by the media as "black leaders" (e.g., Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson). The entirety of their careers are based on their ability to remain in the public spotlight and act as the "voice" of black America (irrespective of how close their opinions represent those of the people they claim to speak for).

I don't think there's a huge conspiracy in the media to further an agenda. I think that's a bit of a stretch. But there are certainly a small number of individuals that use the spotlight of the media to advance their own interests and careers perhaps at the expense of the people they claim to represent. I find the whole idea of a "black leader" somewhat laughable. Where are the leaders for other minority groups? Why don't I see them pasted all over the news media?

True. A lot of lesser known black activists don't typically agree with the actions of those like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton or even the NAACP. And you're right, their careers do depend upon there being racial strife. Of course, as you also said, their numbers are also tiny. And to be honest, while there is still rampant racial inequality for black people and other people of color, people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are not as huge as a problem as they would be if the U.S. was nearing an era where racism was not the norm anymore. But it still is, and will be that way for a while so spotlight-mongering black leaders are not high on the list of things people are looking to eradicate. They're an issue, don't get me wrong, but they're not as much trouble as say the school to prison pipeline or gentrification or stop and frisk.

As to your question about where are the leaders for other minority groups, I just think blackness is more visible in the sociopolitical climate in America due to our history. The civil rights era was beneficial for black rights and gain of privileges, but it also set up the basis for latinos and asians to piggyback for their rights also (which is definitely not a problem, the more the merrier). I could be wrong as to why, but this is just my opinion.

I don't think that video is the best way to get your point across. I mean, it was a German black woman talking to German neo-nazis and KKK to understand their point of view and dissect why the feel the way they do. She actually gave these usually racist and terroristic groups a platform soooo this works against your argument.

And racism can't be solved by people of color alone. White people have a stake in racism too, so it's not possible for one side to work on improving and allowing for progress while one side is uninvolved and holds staunchly on to a status quo that benefits them. Nah, everyone needs to have a seat at the table.

Mass media is owned and ran by maybe three or four corporate, conservative giants. So take issue with them.

I believe they are put in the spotlight by the powers that be. They just profit. Pretty much traitors, or prostitutes (whatever fits the bill better)

This goes back further than MLK. People always forget about the Reconstruction Era. For a tiny sliver of time, blacks had it great. Look at the demographics of congress during that time.

The snuffing out of black power started right after this.

This is a great webpage about how the media plays with our minds.

It's too perfect. That's my point. It's just junk food for the already conditioned mind.

If you think Reconstruction was a great time for African Americans, then you either know nothing about the history of that period or you're completely delusional. That era was the foundation of institutionalized racism.

You are guilty of affirming a disjunct .

Weak.. Try harder.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affirming_a_disjunct : The fallacy lies in concluding that one disjunct must be false because the other disjunct is true; in fact they may both be true because "or" is defined inclusively rather than exclusively.
Lol- ok sure, you got me. Both of those statements could be true.

You still claimed something so preposterously false, that I felt I had to comment. Maybe instead of trolling you could actually have a reasonable, informed discussion on the topic, but I won't hold my breath.
