I went to the Osteopathic Medicine Awareness Conference at COMP this past weekend, and I have to say that overall I was pretty impressed. Although I went in there with a lot more information under my belt than most at the conference, I still got a lot of personal concerns dealt with by some of the faculty/staff. My tour guide however did not do a good job at all. Anyone else go to the OMAC?? If you did, did you get those email addresses of the panel members? Could you either post them or email them to me?? This would be a big help. Thanks

Spyyder31- That's great you had a chance to attend OMAC. Even if you come in having done your research on COMP, it's still a good experience to hear students/faculty talk and get a feel for the place by walking around and sitting in on a class. What did you not like about your tour guide? I think the quality of the tour guides probably varies on a case-by-case basis.. not everyone can be a great tour guide! At any rate, was Arnold Cuenca (from UCSD.. an MS-II c/o 2004) a speaker on the panel?

Hi there,

I was scheduled to be on the panel at this OMAC conference, but unfortunately I had to go back to San Diego to take care of some personal business. I was actually on the OMAC panel last August and it was a great experience. Unlike some of my very "optomistic" counterparts, I will tell you the realities of what is going on.

If you have any questions about anything, just email me at [email protected] and we can talk some more. I'll give you my phone number as well.

Thanks!

Arnold

Melancholy,
My tour guide was not "bad", but he was the weakest part of the day. He really had no idea of what to show us, and couldn't answer a lot of our questions. But that was OK , my girlfriend and I went exploring on our own and got a lot of good info. 🙂
