Thoughts on paranormal occurrences

Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a poll more or less on what you guys think about the title. Beforehand, I apologize if anyone is offended by the topic, I don't mean to offend. I want to know how people who have taken basic biology courses would react to this.

I'm an agnostic and I used to go to church. The church I went to was okay until a series of unfortunate events. The pastor ended up moving elsewhere because he felt God was calling him to. Now there are occurrences of "gold dust and angel feathers appearing before them." There are people who believe this. So either this guy is really connected with a greater being or he's one of the sickest people known to man. He's not known for deceiving others but I'm just having a hard time believing this. Anyway, what are your thoughts? And please, let's keep it friendly.
