Hello lovely people,

I wanted to hear some perspectives on Providence Portland. I am very conflicted between this program and Brown University. What is important for me is a supportive environment, good education, and also opportunities for a good job or fellowship in hemeonc or infectious disease or palliative care. Family is on the west coast and thus Brown's location concerns me. I just fear doors might close given going to a smaller community hospital as Providence that is not university affiliated.

Appreciate any thoughts. Thank you very much!!

Brown was cozy. People were chill and laid back (not afraid to swear at morning report a bit). Staff seemed well trained. Providence rhode island is beautiful. Lots of bigger cities nearby if you need that scene every now and then, but providence RI itself is pretty artsy fartsy rock and rolly.

Their fellowship match was good but not the greatest. I think its more the type of people who select brown though (people looking for a cozy, solid supportive environment rather than people looking for break neak, high stress, high prestige work environments)
