Hello fellow SDN community. I have done some research on the schools that I will be applying to, was wondering if I should add/take out any.( I guess this is also a chance me thread.) I will be applying as early as possible, already got all my EC and hours logged so just copy and paste, LOR already confirmed (2 Bio professors, 2 GD), and working on final touches on PS. This will be my first time applying as well, also I am a non-traditional student graduated 2017 took a gap year working as an assistant/volunteer.

Stats
oGPA: 3.38
sGPA: 3.48

DAT score: 21 AA, 24 TS (22 GC, 23 OC, 25 BIO), 22 PAT, 18 RC, 19 QR

EC: pre-dental society member, 1500+ hours dental assistant, ~30 hrs research lab, ~130 shadowing hours (GD and perio), currently volunteering at a dental clinic ~35hrs most likely will end with around 70~ by the time application starts/submit

School list
VCU (in state), Howard, Meharry, LECOm, Touro, Temple, NOVA, UNE, NYU, Tufts, Louisville, Western U, Midwest Illinois, Midwest AZ.

Western isn’t worth it, imo.

Remove Howard and Meharry if you're not an underrespresented minority (URM), add Detroit Mercy, UNLV, BU, USC

What makes western not worth it? Location? cause that is what I think

I think I will remove Meharry, but will consider Howard as my GD who wrote me a LOR is a faculty member there.

Seems like they didn’t give plenty of quality applicants the time of day this cycle. I personally didn’t apply, but I know several who did. I just recommend spending that money elsewhere.

Current MWU student here. The adcoms here have a very specific kind of culture they try to uphold, so I think it really comes down to just being the type of applicant they're looking for. If you end up being that student and are willing to pony up the cash, it's an incredible school. Good luck!

What is this kind of culture? I've seen a couple of my friends apply there with decent stats, but did not receive an interview. Are they very selective on their applicants?
