What a waste of time, your school needs some updating in the curriculum.

They wouldn't even let us use a calculator to do dose calculations for anaesthesia.

One good thing that I can say about dental school - there is very little math!

even for the few times you might need a basic calculator, i imagine they wouldn't let you use your own TI-83.
