Hey guys! I plan on taking the DAT next Spring and I was wondering, is it bad idea to start studying now? If so, when is a good time to start studying?

Depends on what kind of person are you. Can you study in a short amount of time and ace it, or do you need a good amount of time to grasp the full concept of stuff?

It all depends on how you are when it comes to test preps.

It doesnt hurt to glance over stuff. But it seems too early. Don't do hardcore studying now cause you most likely will forget it by Spring time! You can start focusing on DAT material during your winter break maybe?
