Time to send in Processing Fee/2x2 to individual schools?

Hey all!

I just e-submitted my application today! I also requested all transcripts and Letters to AADSAS so they should be arriving within a week or two. My question is: what about the processing fee and 2x2 photos now? Should we wait a couple of weeks for AADSAS to process and verify our grades? Did you guys start writing your checks yet? So... wait or send? Thank you!

go to the school supplemental information page (I think that is what its called). It gives you a list of all the schools and when you should send everything. Some will tell you to send when contacted by an admissions officer and some will tell you to send as soon as you submit the aadsas application. Not all schools require a 2X2 btw.

no, dont cut. get a passport photo taken which is 2X2 and send it with the check in an envelope to the schools admissions office 🙂

thank you for your reply. so i see the list where which school wants what. for the schools that say send it to them with AADSAS, do they want it like right now(I just submitted today)? Or should I wait a few weeks for the gpa to be verified?

So you e-submitted before your transcripts were sent and verified and before your Letters, LOR, were recieved?

Yes, I submitted before AADSAS got LoRs or transcripts. I told my school to send it in today, so they'll arive some time next week. Everything is done, I just want to know if I should wait or send the money.

The very first response to the thread from musl85 said it all. Some schools will take them right away, and other schools will want you to wait until you are contacted. You have to go to their website for more information. If the website says send it in with the AADSAS application, then you can send it in right now.

If I send the checks to the school that require them now with AADSAS, do you think they will keep them with my file? How will they do this? I thought it takes like 4-8 weeks before these apps actually get to them. I don't want to have confusions with the checks and having them to send them multiple times or what not. Are the schools pretty good on keeping these things for their applicants?

you pretty much have no choice. If you wait till aadsas delivers, others will have already sent in the check and you will be behind others. On your check, just put your aadsas number (i think some schools ask to put you social, so just check with each schools website), and they will create a file for you. Everything will go into the file as they get it.

now, thats not to say problems dont happen. I think NYU was the only school to claim they did not recieve a check from me, even though i had proof it was cashed. So just call them up, and fax them a copy of the cashed check from the bank and you should be good to go.
