I've now got exactly 2 months till Step 1 😱

I'm feeling pretty confident with the Qbank questions I'm answering online but theres still a few areas I really need to work on. One of my friends recommended BSS for a great punch to the groin to bring you back down to earth.

I'm wondering what you guys think about BSS and is it worth ordering it? I've heard from nearly everyone that the Q's are much harder than the actual exam, but this could be a good thing since it will be presenting tougher and more obscure facts when I'm checking over the answers.

Thanks again everyone

I like it, just remember that it is at least 6-8 years outdated and so you cant rely 100% on the test structure (different) or some of the questions (some different), but for prep it is an excellent resource. The most difficult questions out there.

6-8 years outdated???? What??? Good god with something so popular they don't bother to update it at least every 2 years 😕

BSS books are a lesson in humility. You will find the craziest off-the-wall questions in there. Minutiae of biochemical pathways, old drugs, ludicrous clinical scenarios, etc. Also, many of them are outdated in that they are phrased in a negative sense (ALL EXCEPT, IS NOT, etc) -- this means you need to know details of all the answer choices to answer the question, increasing the chance of getting it wrong. They are the hardest questions I came across in my studies. That having been said, the explanations are excellent, and will help you integrate some concepts/facts you may not have known about.

Just go in realizing you are going to get a lot of them wrong, and don't get discouraged if you get what seem like horrendous scores.
