I've seen a couple of old threads but wanted some recent test-takers to please weigh in. I'm running short on time and reviewing things in timed mode seems easy to get off-track and my mind wanders. A block may end up taking 4-5 hours that way. However, doing in tutor-mode, I'm able to pay more attention when reading the explanations and total takes about 3-4 hours per block.

This is my 2nd pass of UW. Did my first pass during MS3. Thanks.

I often have the same problem, where distractions cause huge amounts of lost time. Tutor mode really helped me with this on my first pass of UWorld. I found taking breaks every 1-2 hours also helped me minimize the lost time.

On my second pass right now, but I am doing timed random blocks now. Good luck!

I agree completely. Timed tutor mode lets you go through blocks much quicker. Plus you know what your train of thought was for your answers when you're reading the explanation. You might not remember why you picked B instead of C on a question you did 2 hours ago but you'll remember why picked it 2 seconds ago.

This is what I did for Step 1. I don't think I did timed questions until right before the test when I was just going over incorrects. Doing this again for Step 2, we'll see how it goes as I take it Friday.

Great. Good luck. Please let us know how it goes. Any practice tests you've taken and your progress and how they stack up against the real deal is appreciated. 🙂
