Hello all -- first time poster, long time lurker 😀

I'm looking for a bit of advice, and so far my searching and browsing hasn't really clarified the core of my question.

I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in sociology in May of 2008. Without going into too much detail, I basically realized that it was foolish to give up on my dream of becoming a DO and have decided to do whatever it takes to fulfill that goal.

While at the University of Georgia, I took several classes which should fulfill the prerequisite requirements for coursework. Those courses are:

Biology I (AP Credit)
Biology II (AP Credit)
Physics I (AP Credit)
Chemistry I (B)
Chemistry II (A)
Organic Chemistry I (C)
English 1101 (AP Credit)
English 1102 (AP Credit)

I intend to take Organic Chemistry II at Perimeter College (a two-year college in Georgia) this Fall, and Physics II at the same college in the Spring. I intend to take the MCAT this Spring as well.

The gist of all this is that I will not have completed all of the matriculation requirements for Fall 2009 before I face application deadlines. I will have one more class completed, one class in progress, and likely will not have completed the MCAT before the AACOMAS deadlines. That being said, is it possible for me to realistically apply for admission to any DO school in Fall of 2009, or am I destined to wait until 2010?

My #1 school right now is GA-PCOM, and for reference, their AACOMAS Deadline is February 1, 2009. Their supplemental deadline is March 1, 2009.

Thanks for having a look at this and humoring me. I can't fathom that this question hasn't been asked before, but for the life of me I can't find it, so rehashing it or using superior search-fu to link to it would be most appreciated. Much love 😍

Go ahead and apply indicating when the outstanding requirements will be completed and be sure to send in updated transcripts upon completion of each course. Once schools understand that you would have all of your requirements done before you matriculate, you are a candidate. Good luck!
