Timeline for USMLEs 1, 2 and 3

That's a really hard question to answer because each school has a different curriculum. Especially as internationals usually follow 5 or 6 year courses. You'd probably want to take step 1 when most of your pre-clinical courses are done. However, lots of times some pre-clinical courses that are on the USMLE (pathology, microbio, etc.) are still taught and intermingled with clinical schedules. Then step 2 is taken once a student has more clinical experience. You might want to try asking other American students in upper years at the university you're attending.
