  1. Pre-Dental
Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on the site and have learned a lot of useful information as far applying to dental school, but I have a weird situation on my hands.

I go to a school on the quarter system and I missed a quarter my sophomore year due to having labrum and rotator cuff surgery from baseball. The way my school offers organic chem is that you have to take the classes 3 quarters in a row. This made it to where I had to wait to take my o-chems this year, pushing me back on taking the DAT until summer.

I will be graduating in the fall and am wondering if I should take the DAT as soon as I am finished with my organics and apply to schools in the summer or if I should wait and apply until I have graduated in the fall and take a gap year. Regardless, I feel as though I will have a gap year no matter what. Any tips or useful advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Well if you apply this cycle, you will save a year. I took the DAT w/o taking Orgo 2 and used chad videos for Orgo review. You can probably take the DAT in June/July. As long as everything else is ready, you should be okay.

if it's only dat that's holding you back, go for it this year. that is you have everything else mostly set by the time school ends so you can focus on dat
