Would someone mind offering timeline advice? I have three semesters of college left, after which I plan to complete either a post-bac or a graduate program in the biological sciences. The second option seems best, as my GPA (due to a chronic illness) is below salvation.

Therefore, I was thinking of completing college (graduate in 2013) and beginning the graduate program that following Fall. The MCAT would then be taken Spring 2014. I would apply the summer of 2014. However, is one year enough post-bac time, or should I wait until the graduate degree is complete before applying?

If I should wait two years, should I take the MCAT in 2014 (Spring or Fall?) or Spring 2015? Does it matter?

From what I have heard from these forums, the two main numbers they consider are MCAT and undergraduate GPA. If your uGPA is beyond salvation that could cause major problems regardless of your gGPA. I would suggest repairing your uGPA with post-bacc work. If it is really bad (<3.0) Than I would suggest retaking courses and utilize DO grade replacement.

If you plan on going to med school the masters doesn't really offer you much anyway, except more student loans.
