Hey everyone,

My school provides us with a month for Step 2 preparation. I have my month off scheduled from 10/22 - 11/16. I'm assuming that all of my interviews will occur after Thanksgiving as ortho typically interviews late. Is it best to take CK prior to CS? i.e. spend 3 weeks studying for CK and 1 week for CS? Thoughts?

Thanks!

Probably better to get CS out of the way since it takes longer for the results to come back.

As long as you take it before the new year so that there's plenty of time to retake it if you fail (ie so you can go to residency!) it doesn't matter.

CS really is all about just washing your hands, SIGECAPS, and making patients repeat everything back to you. Your differentials are going to be GERD, MI, pneumonia, migraine, stroke, diabetes. Not Chagas disease, Langerhan's cell histiocytosis, or lymphangioleiomyomatosis. If you can't diagnose the former yet (treatment is not part of your writeup in CS) then you were asleep during third year.
