Tips for studying general chemistry

what is the best way to study for general chemistry?
I want to see what study tips people have come up with aside from the read ahead and do practice problems. I am very interested in trying out some of the tips that people have come up with if there are any.

You've heard enough from me, but my two cents is: practice, practice, practice.

If you practice ALL types of problems, then there really can't be anything to stump you on exams. There are only so many types of questions they can ask.

Should I study for genchem like a math class since there are going to be a lot of problems? Sorry but It's been a while since I've taken chem and I don't want to blindly jump into it.

Yeah, that's chemistry in a nutshell--lots of problems to solve. Some of them will be plug-&-chug math (gas laws), others will be simple from the math end but more difficult conceptually (balancing equations), and some will be both (stoichiometry).

I remember taking econ course on statistics(I was an econ major) and for some reason a simple math concept wrapped around with econ terminology would make people struggle. It's one thing doing just plug and chug math is something else understanding the concept behind it.

I think I need to chill. I'm going away to margarita this weekend so I'll be away from this weekend and the next.
