Hey Everyone, Sorry for starting another thread but I was just accepted to the M.S. in Neuroscience and Education Program and Teachers College, Columbia. Is anyone currently in this program? The research opportunities look great, but I am just somewhat hesitant of the job market for a M.S in neuroscience. What do you all think?

P.S. I also got into U Hartford, Oxford U (where I did my undergrad), Fordham, & LIU for PhD/PsY.D programs in Clinical Psyc.

I am giving TC a thought since I am interested in becoming a neuropsychologist. . . .

Thoughts?!

I'm not familiar with the program specifically, but I do know that neuropsych is extremely competitive (but also quite lucrative), so it might require a PhD to get to the point where you can ultimately cash in. I'm sure, though, that with an MS from TC that you would be a phenomenal applicant to doctoral programs should you decide to take your education a bit further.

Not sure if that helps, but it came to mind after I read your post. Just out of curiosity, are you wanting to go into pediatric neuropsych?

Neuropsychology is limited to doctoral-level professionals, so if that's your ultimate goal and you're seeing the MS as terminal rather than a stepping stone, you might have to rethink things a bit.

Beyond that, I don't know much about the program, but having an MS in neuroscience (assuming you make decent grades, of course) certainly isn't going to hurt your chances of getting into a grad program that will afford you neuropsych experience.
