Hey all,

Since, school is starting around mid august, I just wanted to know if the entering students need to brush up any topics, or read about certain medications etc.... Since, I have some free time right form now untill the school starts, I was thinking if I can get a head start on certain things that I need to know before schools starts.thanks.🙂

Gotta love terms, I do not start until end of September. I think it is usually a good idea to brush up on Ochem. Acid/bases, pKA and other big topics. I would just glance through summaries in your Ochem book or find some Ochem notes online. Also it never hurts to start looking at top 200 drugs and memorizing, you can buy flashcards or find a list and look them up on wikipedia.

Really though you only have few weeks left of freedom, look over a little OChem and few drug names in spare time but don't feel bad about being lazy and just having a good time.

hey, pushing my freedom to the limit! because once school starts then ill get serious...i may brush up on orgo tho..that may b a good idea..i probaly wont do it tho!!

No, enjoy the rest of your summer. You'll be busy soon enough and wish you had the free time.

Studying organic chemistry is not going to help much with pharmacy school. Med Chem is very different from your traditional organic chem classes.

My school sent a letter with some orgo topics to brush up on. I got that paper and my laptop and googled every topic and read up on it. It took an hour and that's all I'm going to do.

Back side attack...oooh yeah! That was such a dork joke back then. Yeah, that's the only thing I remembered from my hour of studying. I doubt we'll need to know much before school starts anyways.

It would be impossible for me to study anything right now. I just want to enjoy of what is left of my seem-to-be-last-summer. Just enjoy yourself!
