Is it still appropriate and good manners to initiate a hand-shake at the start of and the conclusion of a normal style interview?
A publication discussing the MMI, stated that you should NOT initiate a handshake.

I knocked on the door before entering, shook hands with all MMI interviewers, and introduced myself. (MSU MMI)

Just got done with my first regular interview. I shook hands with every interviewer before and after the interview.

In a normal interview, no question, a handshake is the proper etiquette; MMI are very different though, so I could see how some schools may prefer to just keep th8ngs briskly moving along. I doubt you would make a bad impression either way. If

In general, I’d trend on the side of handshake. I think you’re more likely to leave a negative impression without one than with one.
