Any SDNers that might be able to help.

I have tried many times to log out of SDN and the system will not allow me to do so. I take my laptop to school and many times other students ask me to use the internet but I am hesitant to let them because I do not want them to know my user name (this is an anonymous forum).


Can somebody tell me how I can log out so that my username does not appear on SDN when I am in schooll

hmmm..i went thru this also and posted about it. It was some sort of bug when they separated the drs lounge. You have to go in and clear cookies or something. Let me see if i can find it, sorry I'm very computer illiterate but I was able to resolve the problem when i followed their instructions.

OK, here's the problem. When we created the DrsLounge.com, I needed to change the name of the cookie so that it would work for both sites. I didn't realize it would cause this log-out problem. Sorry about that!!

So, here's what's happening: if you've used the site before I made the change, when you log-out, the forum is only erasing the new cookie, meanwhile the old cookie is still there -- so the system still recognizes you based on the old cookie, keeping you logged-in.

So, to fix this unexpected problem, you'll need to close all your browser windows. Then search for your cookies folder, which is usually (for windows) at:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Cookies

Search for any cookie with ".studentdoctor" in it -- then delete them.

Seach for any cookie with "64.235.233" in it -- delete them.

When you're done, come back to the forums and log-in again. After that you shouldn't have any problems logging-out in the future. If that doesn't work, send me a PM.

Sure, any time. And great that it's working..i know when i used my library or a computer lab computer i wasn't too happy when my name was logged in. My SDN buddies told me now i had an excuse for my crazy posts..I could say they weren't mine! 😛

I just hesitate to delete all my cookies ever b/c I'm afraid I'll delete something I need and don't remeber the sign-in for. Good luck!
