Hi all,

I'm new to the forums here. I'm a non-trad who will be 29-years-old this Saturday and I already completed all my pre-reqs. The only thing I have left to do is take the MCAT.

I'm sure this question has been asked before: If I want to start medical school in the fall of 2014, when is the latest I can take the MCAT in 2013? I initially planned to take it in January 2013 but with my current work schedule, I think I might have to delay until April 2013? If I take it then, will I still be able to apply to schools without having to worry about being late?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

You'll have plenty of time if you take it in April. I didn't take mine till July haha.

For most schools, the latest MCAT you can take is September 1st of the year before matriculation. So in your case it should be September 2013. However, taking an MCAT that late puts you in significant disadvantage. Taking it in April as you plan is perfectly fine.
