I just wanted to say good luck to every single one of you!!

The next week will once again be a very exciting time for some, but sad to say it will also be a very disappointing week for others. At this point in time all we can do is say some prays, if religion applies to you, and hope for the best. I know that I have personally never wanted anything as much as this. Yet, I also honestly believe that if you really want to be a dentist your time will come. Whether it be this year, the next year, or maybe even the year after that, your time will come. Each and everyone of us has worked extremely hard to even be in this position, so we should all take some pride in how far each and everyone of us has come. To all of you keep hope alive, no matter what, and the best of luck to you all!!

Sincerely, Andy

Thank you very much for this post. I am basically in this situation and am looking forward to next week as well. I have been working tirelessly in the past year to improve my applicaiton and hopefully it will pay off....if not i will spend another year improving even further and apply again because you are right.....everyone who sincerely wants to become a dentist...their time will definately come. I hope mine is very soon. thanks agian for the words of encouragement!

It's not over yet. Some of the west coast dental schools such as UCLA are still interviewing for open spots in next year's class. From my own experience and from what other dental schools deans have told me, California produces the most dental applicants of any state. In my opinion, most California applicants would prefer to stay in California and if UCLA sends them a late acceptance, they will drop out of whatever school they sent their deposit to (with the exception of other California schools of course!) and that will open up spots in those schools for other applicants. You will most likely see this happening at private schools such as BU, Tufts, NYU, Columbia, etc. My point is that as long as there is a cheaper school such as UCLA that is still accepting applicants, it will affect the incoming class roster of more expensive private schools. Never underestimate the temptation of cheap dental school tuition. So keep your head up high and don't lose hope. Good luck to those who are still waiting.

I am sorry for all of those who have yet to hear anything! I personally haven't heard the good news I was looking for either. I guess you could say that for me it has actually been a sad week. I wish each and every one of you the best of luck and I still have faith that if you work hard you will make it at some point!!
