a letter of intent that is! I'm still waiting for a decision from a school which I think is my number 1 choice and I was wondering whether it's a good idea to either:

1. Wait it out since I might get accepted and it could help me out later when it comes time to do some financial aid bargaining, etc.
2. Write a LOI

Are Letter of intents even effective pre-decision?

I say write!!!!!! couldn't hurt right? at least they'd know they're accepting someone who really wants to go there!! and would for sure......so write it!!! 👍

if its after your interview and you are sure you would go there over all...then write away.

you could wait for other fnancial aid packages before you send it but at least write it out for now and send it whenever you feel like the timing is best.
