Hi everybody,
Does toefl scores really matter? I mean, what do u guys think is a "good score" to get admitted to any dental school through IDP program? -All suggestions are appreciated:clap:

each school has its own requirement ,however ,it ranges between 230 to 250 CBT ,as far as i know, you can use the search service too.

hi dental doc,
each school has its own requirement regarding toefl scores.but i think it is best to have a score of 250 or higher in CBT to be on the safe side as many schools have a minimum requirement of 250.hope this helps.🙂

Each school will need you to have the mimimum that they specified ( it doesnt matter how high you score), you just need to be above that mimimum score.

hena you mean that it wouldent make any difference if you score higher than their req?

Hi guys,
Thanks a lot for responding👍 Even I am aiming for 250, so that, atleast I will be elligible for applying to all dental schools! Relax, if you get an interview, they'll drill your English guts out of you. No doubt about it.

Hey guys

I have scored 293/300 in my TOEFL with the 6.0+ in the essay.Had I not got the 2 ques wrong in the comprehension section I wud have ended up with a perfect score of 300.

About preparing for the exam frankly all you guys need to do is to get familiar with the format so when you take the actual exam you don't make any mistake in answering the question ....rather the way answer it.

After you register yourself with the ETS they will send u a CD which explains the format and has a couple of practise tests and topics for the essay.

The questions in the practise tests are actual TOEFL questions from the previous editions and have now been deleted from the question bank.

Essay is the most important and is mainly an argumentative type in which you are supposed to take sides on the given topic and explain the reasons for your stand.Make sure you are firm in your stand.....not sitting on the fence but do not make any offensive statements.

My topic was "Is Science and Mathematics more important then History and Literature?"Now the rule book told me that one of the examiners will be a Science/Maths teacher and one a Histroy/Literature teacher. So though I felt that S and M are more important I took care to mention that H and L are vital but the other two are MORE vital.

Thats the trick......state your stand firmly but do NOT run down the other side.

The most important thing.....KEEP YOUR COOL!

am sure all of you will walk through this one.

I took the toefl exam last week and my essay topic was
" Some people say that borrowing money from a friend might spoil your friendship" Do you agree or disagree?give reasons with specific examples. I hope this helps for those who are planning to take toefl this month. I heard that questions keep repeating for one month and then they delete them. I am not sure though.

Actually on the instruction booklet you get, there's a list of ALL the possible subjects you may get to write about. But there are dozens and dozens of them!!!!
