What does the tonicity of urine have to do with exactly? Is it referring to the concentration of urea or water or what? For example would would hyper, hypo and isotonic urine mean? Thanks

I think it's referring to salt? If you're really hydrated, your urine will be hypotonic (dilute urine due to excess water), if you were dehyrated, it would be hypertonic (super concentrated with salts, body takes back all water).

Do you have a specific question this goes along with, I think MCAT dudes would definitely be specific in regards to what they mean.

Thanks that actually does add some insight to my understanding. No specific question to be specific, but I have seen references to the tonicity of urine and kidney function several times while brushing up on my bio
