The above books have a little writing in them ,but nothing to detract from learning. I used these books and was not bothered at all by it and in fact most of the writing is in pencil, so completely erasable.

EK 101 Passages in Verbal Reasoning -- $ 30
All writing in very light pencil, easily erasable to use as brand new, great condition
EK 1001 Series in Sciences (2 copies of Bio/OC/Phys 1 copy of GC) TBO
1 set has no writing in it (but doesn't include GC); the other set has writing in it. Obviously the one with writing will be significantly cheaper.
