I am three weeks away from my step 1 and have gone thru the FA a few times and need to do it few more times...is it too late to do DIT at this point? Or is DIT an important tool to get through FA that I should make time for it, regardless? Seeing people rave abt DIT makes me feel like I need to do it.
I was planning on doing DIT in the mornings and Uworld in the evenings...I typically study 12 hours a day.

People will have hugely varied opinions on this. Some people hate DIT and find it useless, and that's totally valid. For me, I studied hard during the first 5 weeks, took NMBE practice tests, and was getting 20-30 points below where I wanted to be. I delayed, got an extra 4.5 weeks to study, and did DIT then. For me, it was a really helpful way to get through First Aid in a really thorough way again and really forced me to look at parts of First Aid I had ignored. However, while you can do DIT in 3 weeks, it's going to be tough to squeeze it in if you still have to do a substantial portion of UWorld. I did the 19 day schedule and found it tough to get in even a full 46 questions every night. Some people can get through DIT faster though, YMMV.

I agree with the above poster. I loved DIT, I need the structure and it forced me to go through FA in detail, but some people think its a waste of time. It's definitely possible to get through DIT in 3 wks, but you won't be able to do much else. If your able to go through FA on your own, it might be a better use of time to go with your own schedule of FA and UWorld.

Depends on where you stand: if your NBME scores are above 240, DIT is not very useful. You should focus more on UWorld and improving test taking skills. If you're trying to get to the 240 mark, DIT is still a viable option.

Thank you guys for your advice...I just did an NBME and I scored 30 points below my goal...therefore I have decided to postpone my exam and do UW in the mornings and DIT in the evenings...hopefully it will help boost my scoring on the NBME!

this maybe just me but I think 3 weeks for DIT is too little time....
the new DIT is like ~200 videos and even though they are abou 20-30 min. long it took me personally 1 hour + to get through each one.

Also the 2013 DIT is much much much better than 2012 DIT...it is much more organized and they actually have text on the screen rather than constantly reading stuff as they did in 2012 DIT.

Also DIT is alot of information and I tihnk it can overwhelm you if you are only 3 weeks away.
